Consortium partners

Initially, the Decision Assist program was supported by eight consortium members. Currently there are six consortium partners, with Austin Health the lead organisation.

The Austin Health Decision Assist team manages the program, its finances, contracts, governance, communications, reporting and evaluation. The team is responsible for the advance care planning advisory line, prevalence study, GP advance care planning training and resources project and aged care advance care planning training and resources project.

CareSearch at Flinders University provides information and direct links to quality resources in palliative care, including materials specifically for aged care staff and GPs. CareSearch created the PalliAGED apps for GPs and nurses and the original Decision Assist website.

University of Queensland (UQ) generated ethical approval for all projects, developed a program logic and the evaluation framework for the program, provided assistance with design of online modules and face to face workshop content and delivery of aged care workshops in Queensland, and the program evaluation until July 2016.
